Job Description:
R&D Product Chemist needed in Louisville, Kentucky. Position will work in the lab to assist in the development and testing of current/new products in different plastic applications. Will develop a strong understanding of the product lines and their appropriate uses and interactions in a variety of plastic applications of the industry. Will complete service requests and issue written reports as specified by supervisor. In-process and finish good testing, to include but not limited to: Qc testing, extrusion, injection, particle size distribution and others. Operation, calibration and maintenance of mixers, balances, extruders, microscope & other test equipments to complete technical service work requests and issue written reports. Operation of color computer and spectrophotometers in combination with a strong understanding of color . Develop an advance understanding of plastics applications. Complete MSDS requests, sample requests. Keep a laboratory notebook. Waste disposal, cleaning, data entry, safety. Assist other chemists as needed. Required: Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related field. Pigment Experience with plastic applications. Prefer three years experience in a like or similar field.
