Job Description:
Principal investigator in researching and developing new solid imaging materials. Responsible for supervision of assigned technical support resources. Prepares chemical formulations and/or synthesis per generally accepted methods. Performs spectrographic, chemical, thermal and mechanical analysis and quality control measurements. Operates solid imaging equipment for the purpose of testing materials and fabricating demonstration parts. PhD in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related field, with 0-3 years post doctoral or other experience or Masters Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Technology related field with 1-3 years previous experience or Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related field with 3-5 years of previous experience. Photochemistry; polymer chemistry; polymer science and engineering; statistics; DOE; synthetic organic chemistry; familiar with scientific software such as Matlab, Maple, Mathematica, Statistica; familiar with lasers; familiar with polymer analytical methods (DSC, TMA, DMA, HPLC). Must be able to hear alarms and warning signals to react according to safety procedures. Must be able to stand at laboratory bench or hood while performing chemistry-related tasks.
