uv.eb WEST 2007 Dates Announced

Chevy Chase, MD (July 19, 2006) — RadTech-The Association for UV and EB technology, has announced dates for uv.eb WEST 2007, a two day conference and table top exhibition, March 6-7, 2007 at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel at LAX in Los Angeles, California.  Presentations and demonstrations by leading industry suppliers and users will target the environmental, economic, energy savings and performance benefits of UV and EB—and how the technology enables manufacturers to meet and exceed regulatory requirements.

UV (ultraviolet) and EB (electron beam) are high value, rapid throughput processes-- used to cure (or dry) coatings, inks, adhesives, and composites--offering the virtual elimination of emissions and lower energy consumption compared with traditional methods. As a result, manufacturers are increasingly using this safe, fast and efficient pollution prevention technology, as the industry continues to grow at over twice the rate of traditional processes.  Many west coast manufacturers using UV or EB already benefit from a number of regulatory advantages, including:

  • Permit exemptions from the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD)
  • Regulatory exemptions for many UV/EB operations
  • Recordkeeping exemptions
  • Exemptions from Title V requirements

In addition, UV/EB technology is included in many BACT (Best Available Control Technology) listings and is identified as more cost effective than add-on controls by San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.

uv.eb West 2007 includes a tabletop exhibit and conference program covering the basics of UV & EB technology; plus, application workshops on aerospace and defense, UV inkjet, wood finishing/building materials, composites, adhesives, electronics, commercial printing/converting, metal, plastics finishing, and more!

The program will be announced soon so visit http://www.uvebwest.com for details in the next month.  To request a complete uv.eb WEST 2007 registration brochure by mail or to obtain information on exhibiting call RadTech International, NA at (240) 497-1243.
