Attendance Double Expectations at uv.eb WEST 2005
Chevy Chase, MD— (February 17, 2005) With over 400 in attendance, uv.eb WEST registration hit double initial event plans, making the first RadTech exhibit and conference on the west coast a success. “Manufacturers are increasingly raising their awareness that Ultraviolet (UV) and electron beam (EB) processes offer a competitive edge,” says Mickey Fortune, RadTech Sr. Marketing Director and event manager. “The processes are also ‘pollution prevention’ technologies, enabling companies in California, and around the world, to not only boost productivity, but also meet stringent regulation.” While West Coast delegates accounted for about one third of attendees, over 30 states and 9 different countries were represented at the event.
“We are pleased to attract individuals from a broad cross section of industry and military with an interest in the operational, performance and marketing advantages offered by UV/EB,” says David Harbourne, RadTech President and President of Fusion UV. “RadTech is uniquely positioned as an international forum for the advancement of this cutting edge manufacturing technology--this success helps confirm that the process is poised for rapid growth in a number of industrial applications.”
uv.eb West was held February 10-11 in Los Angeles, California. Event sessions included Aerospace & Defense, Printing & Converting, Electronics, Composites, Adhesives, Wood Products/Building Materials, Plastics, Inkjet/Digital Printing, and Medical Devices; as well as presentations from regulators and academia touting the advantages of UV/EB. For more information on the event, contact Mickey Fortune at mickey@radtech.org.
UV and EB are high value, rapid throughput processes offering the virtual elimination of emissions and lower energy consumption compared with traditional methods—providing manufacturers with a safe, fast and efficient pollution prevention technology. As a result, the industry continues to grow at over twice the rate of traditional processes.
